Databases

The library currently has over a dozen electronic databases in it's Arcadia suite, available for alumni access, and  is continuously growing the range of databases available for alumni use. We welcome feedback on the information resources and your information needs.

• The alumni databases may be accessed via on-site machines or remotely from your home or office, and provide access to an astounding collection of books, newspaper and journal articles, annual reports, industry data and lots more in the library's Arcadia collection of electronic databases.
   

• Guides to the Arcadia products are available for a quick introduction to basic but essential searching techniques. For more in-depth research, library staff can help you make the most of this powerful collection of products.
   

• Databases may be used for personal research or study purposes only, and must at all times comply with copyright and other relevant legislation. In particular, the resale, redistribution or use of any database content for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited. 

Finding information

Whether at our Carlton or Mt Eliza campus, library staff will be pleased to assist in the use of the collection whenever you visit the library on-site.

Assistance may include:

• finding hard-to-track information or data,

• helping with the use of the databases available for alumni use.

Where time may be critical, it is advisable to prearrange a session with a member of the library staff for assistance during your visit.

• search our catalogue from anywhere in the world to explore our specialized management and business collection of over 30,000 quality books.

• use the catalogue to view your loan record, extend any loans you might have or place holds on items on loan to other users.

Subject & Location Guide

         -  want to know where on the shelves you will find the marketing books?  For a self-directed  “walk” through the subject content of the book collection, use this guide to translate management topics into the Dewey shelf numbers at which books in all the broad management areas will be located. 

Subject Bibliographies

       -  the library's Subject Bibliographies , compiled and updated on an on-going basis, will instantly provide you with our holdings on subjects of common interest, such as Electronic commerce, Business to business marketing; Consumers and consumer behavior; Risk management; and Cross-cultural communication.

New Books List

       -  for the very latest publishing output in all the key management areas of interest to the business community, check the New Books List, arranged by broad subject category, and with informative abstracts to guide your reading.
