Printing and copying
There are two photocopiers, which also act as printers, in the print and copy room located
opposite the loans desk in the library. Both copiers have A4 and A3 size paper, and one has an
auto feeder for multiple page copying. To print to either of these machines from a library PC,
select LIB01 or LIB02 on the printer menu.
A third copier/printer is located in the copy centre located in the basement area below student services. This machine can produce colour prints and transparencies, and is identifiable as BO4C on the printer menu. Additionally, a printer only (student 5si) is located in the Westpac Lab.
All printers and printer copiers operate with the use of a copy card which can be purchased from the card dispenser machine in the library.
Copying & printing costs
The cost of an A4 black & white reproduction is 11 cents per page. An A3 black & white copy is 22 cents per page.
Colour printing or copying is 60 cents per A4 page, and $1.20 per A3. Transparencies cost 60 cents per sheet.
Purchasing a copy/print card
The Monitor card dispenser machine, located opposite the loans desk in the library, dispenses re-usable cards at an initial cost of $2. To purchase the re-usable card, you will require coins to the value of $2.
To purchase a card:
- press the silver button
- insert a $2.00 coin or coins to the value of $2.00 (note this machine does NOT give any change)
- collect the card from the dispenser at the base of the machine
- collect your receipt
- press the silver button to end the transaction.
Adding value to your card
Once you have purchased a $2 re-usable card, you can add value to your card with both coins and notes, using the same card dispenser machine in the library. Another revaluater machine is located outside the Westpac PC lab., but note that that is a revaluater only and will not issue new cards.
We advise that you do not add large sums to a card as lost cards cannot be replaced or moneys refunded.
To add credit:
- swipe your card (printed side facing towards you)
- add your money (notes & coins)
- press the silver button
- collect your receipt.
Please bear in mind that the library does not provide change. Although some change may be available from the MBS cafeteria or the facilities office, students ought not to rely on the availability of change from those locations.
Printing
All student PCs located in the library are connected to the photocopier printers. Remember to select the right printer (LIB01 or LIB02 if printing inside the library or BO4C for color printing at the copy centre) before you hit the print button. All current jobs will be queued on the print release station either in the library, the Westpac Lab or the copy centre depending on the printer chosen. The print release station for the library printers is located immediately inside the print and copy room.
To Print:
- highlight your name from the list displayed on the print release station
- at the prompt enter your network password
- select the job you wish to print
- click Print on the taskbar at the top of the screen
- swipe your copy card in the card reader machine next to the release station
- click Yes on the pop up window to release the print (or No to cancel).
