As a MBS / University of Melbourne award course student, it is important to activate (and keep active) your University email account because:
How to activate your University email account:
Every MBS / University of Melbourne award student has a University of Melbourne email addresses in their student record, usually of the format initial.surname@pgrad.unimelb.edu.au
In order to use this email account it needs to firstly be activated:
Step One: Go to the webpage http://accounts.unimelb.edu.au/ and click “Student”.
Step Two: Fill in the “User identification” section. Click “Login : Student”.
Step Three: Select the account you wish to create (in this case it will be your email account) and click “Create”.
Step Four: Enter a password according to the guidelines. Verify the password by entering it again. Click “OK”.
Step Five: The last screen will display your username and confirm your account registration. MAKE A NOTE OF YOUR USERNAME. For security reasons, close your browser.
Note: in addition to using your username and password to access your email, you will need them to access the University of Melbourne's online library resources interface, SuperSearch.
How to forward your University email to your MBS email account:
Step One: Go to the webpage https://webmail.student.unimelb.edu.au/ and log in with the username and password you have created.
Step Two: Go to “Options” and then “Message filters”.
Step Three: Under “Add a new rule” select “All messages”.
Step Four: After “Redirect all mail to:”, enter your MBS email account (initial.surname@student.mbs.edu).
Step Five: At the confirmation screen, click ”Finished”.
